Sounds of the Black Church | May 15 & May 22 2022

Learn about the music of the Black Church, including Gospel music with a focus on a particular Black hymn writer. This two-week class will not just be talking about the subject matter but will also include a hymn sing so that participants can experience the music together.

CLASS LEADERS: Donte Ford is an Assistant Professor of Music and Associate Chaplain for Worship Arts at Wheaton College. With completed degrees in Choral Conducting and Music, he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Choral Music Studies. He’s best described as a musician, minister, and scholar. He is a gifted preacher and holds ministerial credentials in the Holiness-Pentecostal and Baptist traditions.
