Children are excited to meet God in a kid friendly way—with age-appropriate lessons, exciting and meaningful worship, and lots of play and joy. They love to see God at work in their lives through Sunday morning worship programs, a mid-week experience—Spark, and a summer VBS.

Children’s Ministries at First Pres are a blast, with fun opportunities that walk with kids on their faith journey through 5th Grade.

During Sunday worship, our youngest kids will explore faith through engaging, age-specific activities. Whether they’re playing, praying, or creating, every moment is crafted to help them connect with God.

Here, kids love to discover God loves them, made them, and has a plan for them. During Sunday worship children play, pray, create, and explore Bible stories together in fun and interactive ways.

Spark
Wednesdays, 3:45-5:30pm
Spark is our exciting after-school program for 1st–5th graders, running from early September through mid-March. This year in SPARK, our theme is “Let Your Light Shine.” We’ll be exploring how God’s light shines in us and through us—and how even the smallest spark of kindness, courage, or truth can light up the world around us. Each week, your child will hear stories from the Bible (Old and New Testament!), participate in interactive lessons, and be encouraged to live as a light in their school, home, and community. On October 29, as part of our finale for the fall, we are looking forward to a GLOW PARTY – where we will literally shine bright under black lights!! We invite all children to join us next summer for a fun week of learning about Jesus! VBS is for rising Kindergarteners through 5th graders. Preschool VBS is for 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds (not in Kindergarten).

Stephanie serves as the Director of Children’s Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, where she leads First Pres Kids—a Christ-centered ministry that invites children into worship, wonder, and belonging.

Children's Ministries Coordinator
Brook works with Stephanie to lead and build out the robust Children’s Ministries programs. She wants all children to know that Jesus loves them everywhere, all the time.
This ministry offers a loving education to prepare children age 2-kindergarten to succeed in school and beyond.
