Let Us Consider How: Leaning into Hope in 2021, Fall Sermon Series and New Worship Times

As we begin a new school year, a new church program year, and a new sermon series, many things feel the same. We are still in the midst of a global pandemic, we are still concerned about balancing safety and normalcy, and we are still facing an uncertain future. The good news of this new season is that we do not need to wait even one minute to get on with the work of being the church; the people of God.

Because of the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf, the church has tremendous hope (confidence in the future) in all seasons. This particular season of life is placing upon us challenges unlike any we have seen before. It is discouraging, it is disorienting, it is troubling. The author of the book of Hebrews roots us in a great truth and then issues a challenge: In light of what Jesus Christ has done for us, let us consider how we might spur one another on and move forward as the church community. That is a great challenge for the congregation of First Pres in this moment of our lives.

In this sermon series, we will talk frankly about the trials and tests that we are facing and how we can accept our work of contemplating how we will step forward to live into the mission and calling of the community of Christ.

Join us for Let Us Consider How: Leaning into Hope in 2021 at new Worship Times starting August 15.
