It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas and the Outreach Christmas Store is coming soon! On December 11th, 350 families representing 1000 children in need will shop for gifts for their families at the Christmas Store created by our mission partner Outreach. At this special store every toy is sold at 75% of its actual value. This gives shoppers dignity and choice in their gift purchases and funds raised go back into serving the community.
There are a few ways you can help make Christmas special for families in need:
This year again Outreach has asked our church to provide warm, fun winter hats for every child served by the store, so that’s 1000 hats! The sewing circle has been hard at work creating beautiful hats which you can buy after church on Sunday Nov 21st to donate to the Christmas Store! We also encourage you to take on this challenge and search out fun, warm hats that you think children will like online or in the old fashioned way (in an actual store :-). You can leave the hats you give in boxes underneath the Christmas Trees in the entrances and gathering place of the church.
In addition to donating hats you can also volunteer to hand out the hats to shoppers at the Christmas Store. First Pres will be manning a room at the store dedicated to helping each family choose hats for their children! To sign up to volunteer click here.
NEW THIS YEAR! You can also help drive volunteers from their parking lot to the store. This is a huge help to making this well oiled machine work. To sign up to drive click here.
