This year, we are going to have to work to make our giving worshipful – as well as sacrificial, proportional and communal. Most years we have a Sunday morning or two where we make it part of our worship service to bring forward our financial commitments to ministry at First Pres. Because financial giving is a part of what it means to worship the Lord.
This year, we are going to do things a little differently.
I want to invite you to come to the sanctuary sometime over the next three weeks to have a conversation with Jesus. Because giving is a sacred act, we want to give you the opportunity to pray and reflect in some sacred space.
We have created some prayer spaces in the sanctuary. And during the next three weeks, you can sign up to come to the sanctuary to pray. And I would invite you to come and pray about more than your relationship with money and your giving.
Come and pray for our nation. Come and pray about the election. Come and pray for your neighbors. Come and pray for yourself. This is your space. You have been separated from it. But during this season, I want to invite you to reclaim it.
Time slots are available between 8am and 8pm, and you can reserve your spot in the sanctuary for prayer by calling the church office or by choosing a time using this link.
