4th@First: A New Celebration

Three Cheers for the Red, White & Blue!

We love the longstanding tradition of the 4th of July parade, and while there is no parade this year, the First Pres Relationship Formation Committee has something FUN and festive planned for the church! We are decorating the church’s front lawn as if there will be a parade… and we need your help!

WANTED: First Pres members, friends and families are needed to adorn a festive, patriotic, red, white, and blue lawn chair. Your decorated chair will be part of a lawn vignette celebrating 4th@First. Decorate on your own or with your team of friends and family. If you prefer, decorate a wagon, an old bicycle, painted tarp or blanket. Please keep decorations non-political.

Decorated items should be dropped off on the church lawn on

  • Friday, June 26, 1-3pm or
  • Saturday, June 27, noon-2pm.

The vignette will remain on the lawn through July 4th. You will be responsible for picking up your decorated item on Sunday, July 5 before 3pm. Anything left after that will be placed in the trash.

Donations & RSVP's

DONATE: Our hot dog concession donations typically benefit First Pres mission partner, DuPage Pads. While that won’t be happening this year, you can donate now.

RSVPs are requested for dropping off your decorated item(s)—please direct RSVPs and any questions to Lynn Day.
