4 Ways to help with the Outreach Community Center Christmas Store, December 2019

By November 20, 2019December 10th, 2019No Comments

Each year Outreach Community Center hosts a Christmas Store for the families it serves. Parents are allowed to come and shop, by appointment, for each of their children. Because of generous donations from First Pres and many local organizations, new toys and gifts are available for parents to purchase at discounted prices. Proceeds from the sale support the ministry of OCC throughout the year.

Here are 4 ways you can help:

1. First Pres collects 1000 hats for children. Please help us provide each child at Outreach with a new winter hat! Bring winter hats for kids ages 8-18 to the church before December 8 (December 11 at the latest. After December 11, hats and gifts should be taken directly to OCC in Carol Stream.)

2. Gifts are also needed! Gift information is on the OCC website. If you are bringing a gift to the church, it should be here no later than Wednesday, December 11.

3. On Sunday, December 8, join us after worship services for a short work project! At 10:00 we need help writing over 300 Christmas notes to the families of OCC. Tables and notecards will be set up in the Upper Gallery. At 11:30 we will finish writing notes and sort the hats and other stocking stuffers in the Gathering Place.

4. On Saturday, December 14, the day of OCC’s Christmas Store, we need help staffing the hat table. Four people are needed during each hour-long shift. If you can help, contact Bob Duncan.

Thank you for helping make Christmas special for Outreach children this year!
