Westminster Preschool

About Westminster

History
Westminster School has excelled in early childhood education for more than 50 years. In 1956, First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn founded Westminster as a ministry outreach of the church and a service to the community.
Our Mission
The ministry of Westminster Preschool (WPS) strives to provide a foundation for the love of learning, nurture for a child’s body, mind & spirit with skills and confidence for the academic years ahead. Our purpose is to provide a loving, caring, Christian environment that aids all children in their social, physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
Our Program
We encourage healthy self concepts and positive peer relationships through age-appropriate learning that involves a daily balance of “free-play” and interactive structured learning time. Our meaningful curriculum is responsive to individual needs and facilitates children’s knowledge of the world around them, while building a strong foundation for reading and math skills. Development of cognitive skills, fine motor skills, socialization, negotiation, will also be practiced daily. We offer a weekly music session for ages 3, 4 and 5 with gym for 4 and 5-year olds. There will be a school provided snack time, where self help development skills are encouraged.
