Children are excited to meet God in a very kid way—with age-appropriate lessons, exciting and meaningful worship, and lots of play and joy. They love to see God at work in their lives through Sunday morning worship programs, a mid-week experience—Spark, and a summer VBS.

Children’s Ministries at First Pres are a blast, with fun opportunities that walk with kids on their faith journey through 5th Grade.

During worship on Sunday mornings, children love to take part in their own age-appropriate worship experience.
Nursery
0 – 2 years old
The nursery shows our youngest kids God’s love and care that starts from birth. Children age 2 are encouraged to join the leaders for 20 minutes during the service where they can sing, play, and read the Bible. We have adapted the program to your child’s developmental stage.
Kids’ Church
Age 2.5- K
Here, kids love to discover God loves them, made them, and has a plan for them. They hear an exciting story from the Bible, sing high energy songs with big motions, do fun activities, and circle up for prayer time. And of course Kids’ Church wouldn’t be complete without snack and a little play time squeezed in!
Kids’ Church
1st – 5th
Kids Church of 1st -5th is an upbeat worship experience where kids learn to live out their faith. Children start the morning in a group led by volunteers. They participate in energetic music, intentional teaching, and small groups for fun activities, prayer, and discussion.
Spark
Wednesdays, 3:45-5:30.

This popular after-school program that takes place on Wednesdays end of September through middle of March. Students in 1st-5th grades gather for worship, small groups, and specials which include all kinds of fun games, activities, art projects and more. Through these weekly gatherings, children learn about God’s big love for them.

Vacation Bible School
June 17-21, 2024 | 9-11:30am
We invite all children to join us this summer for a fun week of learning about Jesus! VBS is for rising Kindergarteners through 5th graders. Preschool VBS is for 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds (not in Kindergarten).
Due to the significant updates occurring in our church facility this year, the number of VBS attendees will be fewer than in previous years. VBS 2024 is full/at capacity. Please come back next year for more fun in our updated spaces.

Kristen works to lead and build out the robust Children’s Ministries programs. She wants all children to know that Jesus loves them everywhere, all the time.
Jen Bradbury
Senior Director of Family Ministries
Jen Bradbury serves as the Sr. Director of Family Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn. Jen loves discipling young people and their grownups so that they can follow Jesus in their everyday lives and in the process, transform their communities.
This ministry offers a loving education to prepare children age 2-kindergarten to succeed in school and beyond.
