The cross is the enduring symbol of Christianity. But in its pre-Christian history the crucifix was a symbol of terror and tyranny used as an instrument of brutal punishment to make an example of its victims and dissuade witnesses from perpetrating similar crimes.
Why did God’s own Son, the King of the Jews, submit himself to the cross?
In this series we will examine what is happening theologically in the crucifixion and humiliation of Jesus of Nazareth. We will discover what was accomplished in the cross, the opportunity for freedom given to us in the cross, and how our identity is shaped by the cross.
Tune in shortly before 10am on Sundays as we worship God and explore the answer to, “Why the Cross?”
