First Pres children’s ministry is excited about the upcoming opportunities this Spring/Summer. We love to see God at work in kids’ lives through our variety of programs.
Nursery (0-2 years old): The nursery shows our youngest kids God’s love and care that starts from birth. We sing, play, and love our little ones adapting to your child’s developmental stage. Learn more.
Kids’ Church (Age 2.5-K): During the 10am service, kids’ love to discover God loves them, made them, and has a plan for them. They hear an exciting story from the Bible, sing high energy songs with big motions, do fun activities, and circle up for prayer time. And of course, Kids’ Church wouldn’t be complete without a snack and a little play time squeezed in! Learn more.
Kids’ Church (1st-5th): During the 10am service, Kids Church of 1st -5th is an upbeat worship experience where kids learn to live out their faith. Children start the morning in a group led by volunteers. They participate in energetic music, intentional teaching, and small groups for fun activities, prayer, and discussion. Learn more.

This spring/summer in student ministries there will be lots of opportunities for fun and spiritual growth. We will have a mission trip in July and other opportunities to grow closer with others in the community.
All students currently in grades 6 – 12 are invited to join us for a summer mission trip to Milwaukee, WI, with Youth Works Missions from Sunday, July 14 at 11am to Friday, July 19 around 4pm. During our week together, we’ll serve in a variety of ways. We might run VBS for kids, play games with the elderly in a nursing home, work in a community garden, or serve food in a homeless shelter. Each night, we’ll also do something fun, worship together, and process the day’s experience and figure out what they mean for us after we get home. You’ll grow closer with other First Pres students as well as young people from across the country. You’ll also grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus and your faith.
Students will be expected to attend a Mission Trip Meeting on Sunday, April 14 from 11am – 1pm to help prepare them for their experience. Parents and students will need to attend a meeting on Wednesday, June 26 from 7-8:30pm. Friends are welcome to join us as well as long as they are also able to attend the trip meetings.
To sign up for the trip, complete the First Pres Waiver & Medical Release Form, the Youth Works Registration Form and submit your $500 trip fee here.

Most people have some firmly formed associations with the word “church” – a building, a community, a worship service, an institution. Depending on who you are, you probably have specific associations with the word “worship” as well – music, pews, hymnals, preachers, and choirs perhaps. While none of these associations are wrong, they aren’t able to capture the splendor or intricacy of either concept. In our summer sermon series we are going to blow the doors off of your concept of worship as we examine what scripture teaches us about the corporate gathering of the Christian community. We will emerge from this series with an expanded experience of the richness of worship and we’ll grow as a worshipping community. Come discover the Holy Spirit gathering, equipping and sending us.
At First Pres, we live our faith through service. We love and serve in response to Christ’s call and the needs around us. Learn more about upcoming opportunities this spring/summer.
