May is Missions Month @ First Pres Glen Ellyn

By May 1, 2025No Comments

Missions Month is all about taking action—sharing the faith of

Jesus Christ by going out into the world.

At First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, you have the opportunity to support missions both near and far through prayer, service, and financial giving.

Right now, our church partners with 18 Christ-centered missions, each dedicated to improving lives in meaningful ways. Getting involved in missions can deepen your faith and strengthen your relationship with God.

Engage in Missions

At First Pres we believe in serving the community where we live. Engage exists to provide opportunities for our church community to serve the most vulnerable members of our world.

Activities include:

  • Serving meals in the North Lawndale Community.
  • Providing welcome to America packs to new refugee families with Exodus World Services.
  • Participating in the Outreach Christmas Store.
  • Painting and preparing apartments for single moms.
  • Preparing and planting community gardens in the North Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago.

Pray for Missions

Prayer is a powerful way to support missions. You can integrate prayer into your life by:

  • Commit to regular prayer for missionaries and ministries.
  • Pray with your small group for unity and impact.
  • Celebrate answered prayers and God’s faithfulness.

By lifting up missions in prayer, we affirm our commitment to the gospel and transforming lives.

Giving to Missions

Financial support for our mission partners is essential to our church’s purpose. Every gift helps provide:

  • Education for children from low-income families
  • Care for the elderly
  • Spiritual growth for new believers
  • Food and housing for those in need

Capital grants also help partners complete large-scale projects that extend their outreach and impact.
