Winter Sermon Series: The One Anothers

There is something incredibly significant at stake in this moment of American Church History. It is not a battle for the culture, it is a battle for the soul of the church. Loving one another is supposed to be a strength of the church. We are supposed to be known for this. We are supposed to have this as our distinguishing mark, our reputation in the community. Jesus said so. This is what we do. We are the industry leader in One Anothering.

And yet the church has been infected and influenced by the politics of our culture, the conflicts of our culture, and the new norms of our culture. We have to “one another” differently than what is normal out there. In this sermon series, we will study the whats, the whys, and the hows of living with one another the way the New Testament teaches us to do. We will discover practical resources for living like Christ as we relate to our brothers and sisters in the church, and we will be freed to establish different patterns of relating to one another than what we see in our culture.

Communion Workshop 2022

We want your child to be able to take communion and to understand what it is, who does it, why we do it, and how much it can mean.

Join us on April 10, 11:30am-12pm in John Knox Hall. And April 13, 20 and 27 from 3:45pm-5pm to help reaffirm or affirm for the first time, your child’s desire to follow Jesus. This is a family event; you can have one or two parents or a grandparent be part of the workshop with your child. Communion will be taken Sunday May 1.

However, if your child is not ready to make a faith commitment to follow Jesus at this point, we completely understand; there will be no pressure at all. Children in this phase of life will get a blessing instead of taking communion and we will explain the beauty of this option as well.

We welcome any questions that you may have and look forward to spending this time with you. Please contact David Profitt, Director of Children’s Ministries with any questions.
