Many religious people of Jesus’ day thought they knew how God’s economy worked. If you do good things and live a moral life in line with God‘s Commandments, then God will bless you and love you. If, on the other hand, you live a sinful life, God will condemn you for your lack of morality. Jesus teaches us a much more wonderful and offensive understanding of our relationship with God. In this series, we will see how Jesus integrates grace and truth in his teaching and relationships in order to move us beyond an understanding of God as a cosmic Santa Claus who delivers coal to the naughty and gifts to the nice.
