OCC Christmas Store and Hand-Knit Hats, 2020

By November 5, 2020November 24th, 2020No Comments
Each year, mission partner Outreach Community Ministries holds a Christmas Store, a special one-day event in December for families living near the Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream. Qualifying families can affordably shop for Christmas gifts for their children – at a savings of 75% off retail price. This is a win-win! Purchasing affordable gifts honors parents and grandparents, while proceeds from the Store are designated to Outreach Community Center’s case management services, which helps families throughout the year who need financial assistance.
You can help provide gifts for families who otherwise may not have gifts for Christmas. Thanks to your generosity this year, over 750 children will receive gifts; for many, these will be their only Christmas gifts, providing needed clothing and educational tools as well as fun toys. Shop for gifts through the Amazon wish list or the Target wish list. Thank you for your support of this wonderful event! Questions? Contact David Profitt.

Hats are also needed this year. In addition to participating in the gift drive, First Pres will provide hats for each child. Needlework Circle has once again knit all the hats we need! Keep reading:

The Needlework Circle invites you to join our effort to provide winter hats to the children of Outreach Community Center. For every $5 donated, we will send one hand-knit hat. All money received will benefit Needlework Circle’s mission projects which include the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry, the Glen Ellyn Walk-In Ministry, Jubilee Village and will provide tuition for a student in Uganda. Hat donations can be conveniently given on the church GIVE page. Thank you for supporting our hat fundraiser!
