NEWS from Children’s Ministry for Fall, 2020

By August 27, 2020September 17th, 2020No Comments

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” – Hebrews 13:8. We hope your child will be encouraged to know that in a world full of changes, Jesus doesn’t change. His love for us never stops, his grace is constant, and his presence is always there to guide us. Because Jesus is who he is, we can build our lives on his teaching, which is rock solid.

We hope that this is a year that your child’s faith will grow and blossom.

We have a number of opportunities for your family to grow in faith together. Please Text FPKids to 94090 to stay up to date on all First Pres Kids news, and text SPARK to 94090 for the latest Spark info.

What follows is a taste of what will take place this fall at First Pres for children and families.

  • Shine on Sundays: Family Gatherings under the Tent, Sunday, October 4 at 4pm. Parents and kids, come explore how Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, as we continue to follow him in these ever changing times. Join us under the tent in the northeast parking lot for a socially distanced faith experience for families; weather dependent. We will have fun with music, learning, praying, and being together. Please wear your mask. Each “Shine on Sundays” can accommodate 45 people, so please sign up today.
  • Spark, in-person and online, Wednesdays, September 23 – November 18, 3:45-5:30pm. Spark for 1st-5th graders will run in a modified format in-person this fall. Group sizes will be limited: masks, hand sanitizer, social distancing and temperature checks are some of the many procedures planned. There will also be an “at home” online format available. Videos of the teaching and small group materials will be emailed to those who sign up for this option. Registration for Spark opens at 9am on August 24.
    Register here for in-person Spark.
    Register here for online Spark.
If in-person Spark registration is closed (at capacity), register for the waitlist. If space becomes available, we will contact you.
  • Church at Home resources: Watch for an email each week-end with links to teaching videos and songs. Discussion questions and bonus materials will be available to guide your child through a short faith-building experience. If you don’t yet receive these emails, check your junk folder, or email David Profitt and we’ll add you to the list.
  • Worship services at 10am each Sunday: Tune in each Sunday to watch our worship service. If you tune in before the livestream service starts, you may need to hit “refresh” around 9:55am.

As you navigate each day, we are praying that Jesus’ grace, love, and presence is a blessing for you and your children today, tomorrow, and forever.

Sincerely,
David Profitt, Director of Children’s Ministry
Jen Chibucos, Associate Director of Children’s Ministry
