Come. This concert will prepare you for the worshipful journey from the cross to Jesus’ resurrection. Pianist William Phemister will perform Haydn’s, The Seven Last Words of Our Savior on the Cross, to portray the events of the crucifixion. A narrator will read the biblical scripture for each of the seven musical settings. The free one-hour concert starts with a magnificent introduction and finishes with the depiction of the earthquake described in scripture. The Sanctuary will remain open until 3pm for those who wish to pray and meditate in silence.
