Participants will be exploring in small group conversations the impact of secularization on the spiritual narrative of personal and faith community experiences in the 21st century. By hearing our stories, we will hear evidence of how the Holy Spirit continues in expansive and quiet ways through God’s people to bring about God’s presence of “heaven on earth”.
Class Leader: David Boumgarden is a teaching elder/pastor of Chicago Presbytery and has served as the developing/organizing senior pastor of River Glen Presbyterian Church, Naperville, Il and has served as an interim pastor in three additional congregations before retiring in 2021. David and his wife, Jane, a member of Glen Ellyn Presbyterian Church, reside in Naperville, Il. Their three grown children and spouses are proud parents of 5 children, ages 2 months to 16 years of age. Jane is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Benedictine University and a part-time clinician at Arbor Clinical Associates, Wheaton, IL.
