Equipped Class | Bearing the Image of God

By February 9, 2023February 23rd, 2023No Comments

What does it mean to be human? There are many ways that one might answer that question (biological, sociological, political, etc.), but theological responses have often turned to the affirmation found in Genesis 1 that humans are created in the image of God. But what exactly does that mean? And what does it mean for our relationship with God and each other? In this four-week class, we’ll explore how Christians have interpreted that text over the centuries and how it might inform our faith today.

Class Leader: The Rev. Dr. David McNutt (Ph.D., University of Cambridge) is an Editor at IVP Academic, an imprint of InterVarsity Press, and Associate Lecturer of Core Studies at Wheaton College. He is also an ordained Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA), and he serves as a Parish Associate at First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn.
