Annual Congregational Meeting & Lunch

By January 28, 2018No Comments

On Sunday, February 4 there will be “One All-Church Worship Service” at 10am followed by the Annual Congregational Meeting. Whether you are a longtime First Pres member or newer to the community, you are invited to join in worship, lunch and the congregational meeting on the 4th.

Lunch Plans

Most of lunch will be catered by Barone’s. Only if your last name starts with N-Z, please bring fruit or dessert. If you need gluten-free food, consider bringing a gluten-free item to share. Volunteers are needed for set-up at 11:30am on Saturday, February 3, and for serving and clean-up on Sunday, February 4. If you can lend a hand before, during, or after the luncheon, please contact Deacon Char Workman at or 630-915-4144. All jobs are guaranteed to be easy and fun!

Children’s Programming on February 4

We invite children (grades 1-5) to begin the service with their families and be dismissed during the Passing of the Peace. Preschoolers and Kindergarteners may begin the morning in the Sanctuary with their families or in their regular classrooms at 10am. Following worship please pick up your child, birth thru 5th grade, for lunch as a family in the gym. After lunch we will make an announcement to let parents know child care will open for the meeting. Child care locations are John Knox Hall (K-5th) and the Nursery (birth – age 5).

The Meeting

During the meeting the congregation will receive the 2017 Annual Ministry Report, review congregational financials, vote on 2018 pastoral compensation, elect the 2018 Nominating Committee and be introduced to the new Director of Student Ministries, Blake Riboli.

2018 Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee, elected by the congregation, works to identify members to serve as Elders and Deacons. They also nominate people to serve on the next nominating committee. Nominees to serve on the 2018 Nominating Committee are Kathryn Alcock, Lauren Flood, Bob Goldsborough, Rob Merrell, Debbie Page, Ann Ryerson and Jeff West.
