Keep it up: Your response is rebuilding lives through Missions Giving 2020

Since launching the Covid Missions Response Fund and the Missions Giving 2020 campaign this May, our congregation has been able to achieve tangible, positive impact for our mission partners, resulting in life-changing advancements for vulnerable people they serve.

Recently, Missions Council member Barb Retelny, President of PIM USA, told us of the devastating flood that ravaged the Kamwenge district of Uganda and the families of Partners in Mission (PIM). Already struggling with the effects of the Covid-19, the flood carried away food, buildings, livestock and resulted in the tragic death of two young children; it leveled the homes of 70 families and destroyed the crops of 100. But thanks to your generosity, the affected families have received desperately needed resources, and Barb reports they are well on their way to rebuilding homes and small farms that allow them to survive. This isn’t just money received – the community has found new hope to go forward. That is the power of what you can provide.

On behalf of all of our mission partners, thank you for your generosity!

Please visit our Missions Page to read about current needs of our partners. We will send updates to you by email; or follow us on social media for updates @firstpresge.

Two ways to give today to our life-changing mission partners:

COVID Missions Response Fund

The goal of the COVID Missions Response Fund is to put your support to the best and highest use in this unusual season. Donations to this fund will address pressing needs of food, shelter and special services, and outreach for vulnerable populations. Donations to this fund can be directed toward specific partners if desired; or, any non-designated donations will be directed by the First Pres Mission Council, who will closely monitor our partners’ most urgent needs. Traditional Mission Partner Gift

For those who are long-time donors to “53rd Sunday”, we encourage you to stay the course. Your faithful support and leadership are needed now more than ever. As in the past, you can designate one or multiple mission partners to receive your financial gift. Donations can be mailed to the church or made online (choose “Reg Mission Partner Gift” in fund menu.) Read how to make an online financial contribution.
