Come to Lunch Bunch! Wed. Feb 15 at Noon, in the Gathering Place
Adults are invited to enjoy a catered, hot lunch which includes a specially prepared home-made dessert. Following lunch, speakers Fred and Carol Miller will present: “The Clang of Arms Be Heard No More.”
When Fred’s mother died, he inherited all of the family’s historical documents. Included in the documents, were the diaries and letters written by his great-grandfather James while he served as a Union soldier in the Civil War. Fred would tell you that he had never had any interest whatsoever about the Civil War. But all that changed after he read James’ compelling diaries and correspondence to his wife describing life as a soldier and then later as a prisoner of war at Andersonville Prison in Georgia. You will be captivated by the Millers’ presentation as they share James’ personal written reflections. The Civil War will not be seen as an event in history, but the story of one man living out an extraordinary life of faith.
Donation for lunch is $6 – served at 12:15pm. Invite a friend to join you!
