Women

To all the women of the First Pres community:

The mission of Women’s Ministry is to provide you with a place where you can know the profound love of God as it is unconditionally revealed in the saving work of Jesus. Be part of a vital community where women enjoy new friendships and grow in their Christian faith.

Women’s Ministry places value on creating an inviting, intergenerational community where women are strengthened through the study of God’s word, through caring relationships and through serving Christ in the world today.

SUMMER BOOK CLUB – And Meet the Author

The book selected for this summer is Grumble Hallelujah – Learning to Love Your Life Even When It Lets You Down by Caryn Dahlstrand Rivadeneira. Do you ever say to yourself “This is NOT how my life was supposed to be!” In all stages of life, there are circumstances and/or family/friends which can push us to the brink of total frustration. Caryn asks “Have you been there? During life’s lowest moments, it is so tempting to blame ourselves, our circumstances, or God. But what would happen if we turned to God with praise instead, in whatever way we could? Might He help us find the things in our lives that He made to be loved?” Caryn offers a humorous look at her life, complete with candid stories and solid scriptural backing that will offer us a look at how our life is meant to be lived and loved.

The Summer Book Club meets 9:15 to 10:30am in the Parlor on Thursday June 14, 28, July 12, 19, 26, August 2. Childcare is provided. Books will be available at first meeting. Cost: $15. Register with Cinda at csiligmueller@firstpresge.org. On August 9, Caryn Dahlstrand Rivadeneira will join us to talk about her book.
