Adult Education on Sundays Resumes January 21

9:00 CLASS: “YOUR CHILD’S ANXIETY”
If you find yourself feeling confused, frustrated, or uncertain about whether to push through or pull back when you watch your child struggle with anxiety, this 2-week series will provide you with the skill set you need to feel empowered. In the first week we will ask: what is anxiety, how does it feel for him/her, what are the biological components, why is it there, and what is your role? In the second week, we will explore practical coping skills and techniques for you to implement with your child. The class instructor is Stephanie Fuchs, MA: LCPC with Alcorn & Allison Clinical Associates.

10:30 CLASS: “UNPACKING (SOME OF) THE MYSTERY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT”
Who is the Holy Spirit? What exactly does the Holy Spirit do? As Christians, we affirm that the Holy Spirit is essential to our faith. But for many Christians – and perhaps especially for Presbyterians – the Holy Spirit is mysterious and even confusing. In this four-week class, we will discuss what the Bible says about the identity and activity of the Holy Spirit, how the Spirit has functioned throughout salvation history, and the ongoing role of the Spirit in both the individual Christian life and the life of the church today. Class instructor is the Rev. Dr. David McNutt (Ph.D., Cambridge) Associate Editor at IVP Academic, and a guest professor in the Biblical & Theological Studies department at Wheaton College.
